Transformation is not merely a finite program that a project team delivers. It is a state of mind, where executives, managers, marketers, and technologists must work collaboratively to continually reflect and adapt business strategy in line with an ever-changing digital, competitive, and regulatory landscape. Risks must be calculated but also embraced. Change must be constant and infused into the culture of the organization.

Research suggests 70% of transformation programs fail to deliver their intended objectives. In our experience, the root causes are:

  • Lack of clarity around the strategic intent & execution.
  • Inadequate sponsorship, accountability and alignment.
  • Poor governance and employment processes.

Our Turnaround Services

Our approach focuses on mitigating business and implementation risk; engaging stakeholders at all levels to design, set up, and execute the change program; whilst minimizing impact on business-as-usual activities.

Whether embarking on a digital transformation, transforming organizational culture, undertaking a post-merger integration, or implementing a new operating model; transformation programs have the potential to deliver significant benefits, but must be considered in the context of the organization as a whole; its people, processes, products, culture; to deliver the experience and value the organization seeks to create.

Strategic Planning Process?

Getting clarity and alignment as a group is systemic when you have a clear and specific process. Our strategic planning process follows a 5-step process that we’ll go through over the two days in person.

Once your team is aligned on the strategic elements of your plan, you must schedule in time to review your plan so that it stays top of mind and doesn’t get put on the back burner as the urgent day-to-day (operational) work takes over.

  • Where are they in their current state? (Celebrate - SWOT Scan - Pestle Analysis)
  • Where are they going based on the vision? (3-year vision exercise)
  • What will get in the company way? (Value & Behaviors + Risk Analysis)
  • What are the company needs now and future? (Set Strategic Priorities, SMART goals)
  • How will we implement the plan? (Action & Communication Planning + Critical Capacities)

Greater Strategic Thinking = More Progress

By establishing a framework to prioritize, your organization will make more progress, minimize switching costs, and maximize the resources (Time, Money, and Energy) your team has available.

To do this effectively, your organization needs to be clear on both your vision and the risks and roadblocks ahead of you.

The core outcomes from this process will provide clarity, alignment, and buy-in for your Vision, Mission, Values Strategic Priorities, Goals, & Actions.

In advance of the planning process, we will conduct a survey and interview key leadership team members and participants as well as some key stakeholders.

Sample questions include, “What are your strengths and weaknesses?”; “In your ideal world, what does success for the organization look like in 3 years?”; and “Why do we exist?”
